Babar Azam, Fawad Alam shine on Day 1 of scenario based practice match


Skipper Babar Azam and middle-order batter Fawad Alam were the standout performers with the bat on Day 1 of a scenario-based two-day practice match.

Babar XI finished at 274/3 with Babar and Fawad adding 187 runs for the fourth wicket.

After electing to bat first against Sarafraz XI, opener Imam ul Haq scored a half-century. Babar and Fawad held their nerves calm and composed while scoring runs on a positive approach.

Babar remained unbeaten on 111 off 181 balls including 13 boundaries and a six while Alam made 75 not-out at the day’s end.

For Sarfaraz XI, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Yasir Shah, and Agha bagged a wicket each.

The Men in Green are set to travel to Sri Lanka for the two-match Test series scheduled to begin on July 16.
